See and Be Seen with Anastasia Beverly Hills

We have been graced by Anastasia Beverly Hills to review their latest summer kit called See and Be Seen. This is limited edition and only available for a short while. Have I piqued your interest? Let’s take a look! Careful now, this post is bursting with pictures.

See and Be Seen includes all of the beauty wonderment of a classic Hollywood starlet:

This set contains:

Illumin8 Eyeshadow Duo in On Set
Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Two Hydrafull Glosses in Heiress and Plastic

 Let’s get to the pictures!

On Set Duo Eyeshadows

On Set contains two great metallic shadows that shimmer and shake in the summer sun, perfect for any beach-bound beauty.

Caramel Brow Gel

The Brow Gel in Caramel, while not tinted for every beauty, is great for light brunettes and darker blondes.  It has a metallic sheen to it that highlights the brow beautifully without being shiny or unnatural.

Hydrafull Glosses in Plastic and Heiress

The glosses are bright and glorious; the perfect summer shades to get you noticed.

Open Eye

For the look, I used the lighter shade in On Set over the entire eye over UDPP in original. I swept the darker shade into the crease and along the upper and lower lash line.

Great Colors!

The colors are rich and lean more towards copper than the gold shimmer that I had thought from the first glance at the palette.

Closed Eye

The brow gel matched my coloring perfectly and gave my brows an almost highlighted look to them, as if kissed by the sun. It kept my full arch in place even through the hottest hours of the day.

Full Face with Plastic

Of course, my lashes look heavenly with a layer of Lash Genius to keep them lasting all day.

Plastic Hydrafull Gloss

Plastic is a bright pink that reminds me of Barbie’s signature color.  This neon will be the hottest hit of any summer soiree.

Full Face with Heiress

Here’s Heiress with an homage to Roman Holiday’s heiress herself and my personal beauty inspiration, Audrey Hepburn. She hangs in my bathroom to remind me that sometimes all you need is a great smile and the perfect shade of lipstick to feel beautiful inside.

Heiress Hydrafull Gloss

Heiress is a dark pink that leans softly towards coral.  I had thought from the tube that it would be a richer coral color. Perhaps on me, it just wasn’t meant to be. On me, Heiress seems like a toned down version of Plastic.

Decryption:

This limited edition kit is available from Sephora for $44. If you are new to Anastasia, this is actually a great way to explore the line. With the breakdown at four items for $11 each, it is an incredible savings. Brow gels are normally $21, Hydrafull glosses are normally $18 each and Illumin8 shadow duos are normally $23.  The shadow and brow gel are available outside of this collection, but the glosses are exclusive to See and Be Seen.

I will be honest with you, much like my nail color, I get bored with a makeup look and rarely wear the same look twice and never wear the same look three days in a roll.  Until now, that is. I wore this look for three days over the weekend and again on Monday.  Here’s a confession and I will caution you all to never do this.  I slept in my makeup one night and the shadows were still rich and had hardly diminished at all.  On the days that I actually removed it before bed, the color lasted all day and into the night for over twelve hours.

The glosses were color-rich and full of shine. There was a slight tropic scent with no flavor.  One thing that they didn’t have was the stickiness that is usually associated with glosses this shiny.  This is a must for me. I hate the feeling of goopiness on my lips and these did not disappoint me. Finally, and this could be a point of contention for some, these glosses stain. Alright, stain is a harsh word and associated negatively. Once the gloss has been inadvertently deposited on beverage glasses, there is a lovely soft tint left behind that will wear for several more hours before necessitating a reapplication.

Slight Staining of Heiress and Plastic

I noticed the tint left behind on my wrist after I washed away the glosses. I actually appreciate the tint potential.  Unlike Titania, I do not always have my lips lacquered and I sometimes forget my re-application. Hydraglosses have me covered! On a final note, the gloss applicator is a spatula instead of the usually expected brush or doe foot.  I actually think I got a better distribution on my lips than with the other applicators. I think I’m a fan!

Overall, I love this kit. I’d buy it for the exclusive glosses alone, but I’ve fallen head over heels in love with On Set and the Caramel Brow Gel. Now, I want to explore the other glosses and shadows by Anastasia.

Are you ready to See and Be Seen?
